Slow down. Observe. Create something that is just yours.
A watercolour botanical painting course for complete beginners — and for anyone who has quietly wondered what it would feel like to paint.
Does any of this feel familiar?
You do not need to say yes to all of these. Even one is enough.
I’m not creative at all. I couldn’t draw if my life depended on it.
My days are full, but nothing in them feels like mine.
I save paintings and botanical photos and I don’t really know why. Something about them makes me slow down.
I’ve started things before and not finished them. I wonder if this would be different.
I just want something calming to do in the evenings. Something that isn’t a screen.
I want to make something beautiful with my hands. Even once.
This course was built for exactly where you are right now. Not where you wish you were — where you actually are.
Who this course is for
Complete beginners
You have never held a watercolour brush and are not sure you should start now. This is exactly the right place.
People who say “I can’t draw”
A school memory does not define your ability. Creative confidence is built, not born. We begin where you are.
Those seeking calm
You are looking for something meditative — a space where your mind can genuinely rest, not just pause between tasks.
Nature lovers
You are drawn to flowers, leaves, botanical detail. Painting is a way to deepen that relationship — to truly observe what you already love.
People returning to creativity
You may have painted years ago and stopped. This is a gentle re-entry — unhurried, non-judgemental and without performance pressure.
Adults in transition
Career change, burnout, an empty nest, or simply a quiet feeling that something is missing. Painting gives that something a form.
What you will discover
This is not a tutorial. It is a guided practice — built around five steps that move from seeing to painting, and from painting to something more personal than either.
Learning to see
Before you pick up a brush, you learn to truly look. At the edge of a leaf. The way light shifts across a petal. Visual awareness comes first — and it changes everything that follows.
Your first brushstrokes
Colour mixing, brush control, the way watercolour moves on paper. Clear, manageable steps introduced in the order that makes sense. Nothing overwhelming. Nothing skipped.
Presence over perfection
As you continue, something shifts. The goal is not a perfect painting — it is the feeling of being completely present in one quiet task. The mind settles. The day falls away.
Your first finished botanical paintings
Step by step, you will complete real botanical paintings. Not perfect. Real. And often more beautiful than you expected.
A practice you can keep
The course ends. The painting does not have to. Many students find that this becomes the thing they return to — once a week, once a month, whenever life feels too loud.

This is not another art tutorial
Most courses teach you to produce outcomes — better paintings, faster results, something to show people. This one has a different purpose.
It was built around a simple belief: when you slow down and truly observe a plant, something inside you quietens. What stays with you is not only the painting — it is the hour you spent making it.
Most courses

- Self-paced, pressure-free and genuinely gentle
- Designed specifically for people who say “I can’t draw”

- Structured enough to hold you, open enough to breathe
About Inessa Falina
I began painting in 2021. Not as a career move — as a way back to myself after a period of significant family loss.
I picked up two brushes and a small set of watercolours. I sat beside plants and tried to see them properly. I did not think of it as art. It was more like a quiet rescue. Something steady to hold on to when everything else felt uncertain.
Painting became my way of slowing down. Of learning to be present. Of noticing things I had stopped noticing.
Over the following years, I completed formal training at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and then the Society of Botanical Artists. I exhibited. I sold work. My paintings found homes in London, in Europe, in the United States and Australia. In 2026, I was awarded the SBA Diploma.
None of that is why I built this course.
I built it because the most important thing painting gave me was not skill. It was a way of slowing down. Before I became an artist, I spent over thirty years in senior business roles across three countries. I know what it is to live at speed — to be capable, accomplished and still feel something quietly missing.
Painting changed that for me. That is what I want to share.
What people say
These are collectors — people who encountered Inessa’s paintings and felt something they did not expect. The course is built on the same experience.
Inessa Falina captures botanical subjects with remarkable precision and artistry — her attention to detail is truly exquisite. The moment I saw the piece, I knew I had to have it.
I am buying this one because I love its story.
Inessa is a talented botanical artist whose range is impressive. Some of her work is highly technical in its detail, while some demonstrates a playful wit.
Collectors send photos of where they have hung their pieces — unprompted. The work becomes part of how their homes feel.
