Slow down.
Learn to see.
Painting with Inessa.
A calm, step-by-step painting practice rooted in deep botanical observation. For those who want to slow down, reconnect with nature, and find a quiet space that belongs only to them.
I teach how to see.“— Inessa Falina
Most art courses begin with technique. This one begins with attention. Before a single brush touches paper, you learn to truly look at a plant — its structure, its light, its life. Painting becomes the natural next step. The result is not just a finished illustration. It is a quieter, more present version of yourself.
Each painting begins with sitting quietly beside the plant.

You might recognise yourself here.
These are the thoughts that bring people to this practice. If any of them feel familiar, you are in the right place.
This is not a fast technique tutorial.
It is a slow creative practice — designed to help you observe nature more deeply, build real skills step by step, and find a quiet space that belongs only to you. Painting is the tool. Presence is the point.
Observation first
You begin not with a brush, but with attention — learning to truly see a plant before a single mark is made.
Calm pace, no pressure
Every lesson is unhurried. No deadlines, no comparisons, no expectation of perfection. The process is the practice.
Grounded in lived experience
This practice began as Inessa’s own path of recovery. It changed how she sees. That is what she teaches.
Warm, personal teaching
Inessa brings genuine warmth and occasional humour to every lesson. It feels like painting with a trusted friend.
A practice, not a performance
The goal is a personal space — a weekly ritual of calm and attention that belongs to you.
Fits into real life
Self-paced and completely flexible. One lesson at a time, at the moment that suits you.
Five steps. One quiet practice.
Inessa’s approach is not technique-first. It is experience-first. Each step builds naturally on the last — never overwhelming, always purposeful.
Observation and connection with nature
The practice begins before a brush is picked up. You learn to truly see plants — their shapes, textures, colours, and structure. This step changes everything that follows.
Building fundamental skills
Core techniques are introduced gradually: drawing, composition, colour mixing, brush control, layering, understanding light and form. Clear and manageable — never rushed.
Developing patience and presence
The emphasis shifts from producing a result to enjoying the process. Calmness becomes part of the practice — not something you force, but something that arrives on its own.
Creating finished botanical artwork
You apply your skills to complete botanical paintings with increasing detail and personal expression. Confidence grows.
Integrating creativity into daily life
Painting becomes a regular practice — a protected time each week for creativity, calm, and connection with nature.

Botanical artist. Teacher. Londoner by choice.
Inessa Falina began painting in 2021 — not as a career move, but as a way to recover. After significant loss, painting became her path back to herself. A process of rebuilding, healing, and learning to see again.
Shaped by many years living in Italy and now based in London for over two decades, she brings a rich international life and a very particular way of seeing to everything she creates. After more than thirty years in senior corporate roles — including Managing Director of a property company — she turned fully to botanical art and never looked back.
Her work has been widely exhibited in the UK and abroad — in London at Mall Galleries, Chelsea Old Town Hall, and Green&Stone, in Oxfordshire, and internationally in Greece, France, and Canada. Her paintings are held in private collections across Europe, the United States, and Australia.
Saatchi Art featured her work — including Posing Banana — directly on their platform.
What collectors and clients say.
Inessa Falina captures botanical subjects with remarkable precision and artistry — her attention to detail is truly exquisite. The moment I saw the piece, I knew I had to have it.
I am buying this one because I love its story.
Inessa is a talented botanical artist whose range is impressive. Some of her work is highly technical in its detail, while some demonstrates a playful wit. She is widely travelled and has a great eye.
